John Chow - Review Me Whore

I used to frequent JohnChow.com once a day, sometimes more. He had some very good information on his site about the internet, websites, and making money. His site was very informative for someone like me, a newbie to the blog/website world. He gave me a chance to use Kontera on this site to make more money. But his content has since been going downhill, FAST!

Every time I head over there now, he is doing a Review Me review for something nobody really cares about. That is all he does, besides the articles with the pictures he takes. It’s Review Me this, Review Me that. No one cares about content people pay you to review! He had such a good site, but now it is crap. I received so much information from his site, but now all I am getting is other websites I should go see because they paid him money. Talk about the rich getting richer.

I am sure if I had so many Review Me offers, I would do them (because I like money), but he has a ton of money. His blog makes more money in a month than most of the other blogs will make in a couple of years, probably ever. But he just keeps doing the Review Me reviews to no end. I know it is a good opportunity for someone to get their name out there because John’s site receives so many visitors, but does John have to do some many reviews.

To use John’s terms, he is becoming a Review Me Whore. He has done 61 Review Me reviews, 20 in the last month. I doubt he is struggling for content, so what is it? John, I think your readers would like to know.

The Thinking Blog

You have to check out this blog. The graphic design alone is enough reason to check it out, but the content is very good too. The site is basically a smörgåsbord of interesting and funny content. He has a post about the 5 Most Additive Games, which I got hooked on Number 2 - Desktop Defense - last night.

The design is what really draws you into the site though. The RSS feed button and Technorati button jump out at you. (If I can borrow those and use them on my site, let me know.) Even the re-designs that were done for other blogs are amazing.

The only thing I would suggest is to try to get more content out. While one post a day is very good, I was so drawn to the site, it would be nice to see more.

The reason I am reviewing his site (along with the fact that it is a must see, must read) is that if I have the best review, I can get a full blog re-design. If I have the second best review, I get a new FavIcon, which I badly need. You can also enter the contest, but please, do not write a better review than mine!

Tyler Cruz - Internet Entrepreneur

I haven’t really been to too many blogs lately, but I got an email from Tyler Cruz asking me if I would like to review his site. I was kind of skeptical, as I am will all emails about other blogs, but I actually did like his site.

He has the kind of job I have always wanted. He creates websites and sits back and rakes in the money. He makes money off of advertising and also by selling domains. I have never been a fan of domain flippers (buying a domain name, not doing anything with it, but selling it for a profit). Tyler actually makes something of the website, which in return nets him more money.

I guess the reason I like his site so much is because he lives the life I would like to. He had a series about how he was going to work a 40-hour work week. After 2.5 days, he only worked 4.5 hours. My goal is to be able to quit my 40-hour a week job and find something fun that makes good money.

It is a very good site. You should check it out.

John Chow (dot) com

John Chow (dot) com is a blog I visit every day. He has great information on all aspects of blogs and websites. I would take a look at his Top Posts first before going digging through his blog. He has a great deal of information on adding content to a site, advertising on your site, and generally making your site better. I am not a fan of all the pictures and posts about the events he goes to (probably because I am jealous), but I weed through that to the information that will make my blog that much better.

He has just broke the Top 1000 at Technorati, so you have probably already seen or heard of his site. He just went to an event and received a ton of swag, which he is graciously giving away. Check with his site on a regular basis to get in on the action. I’m hoping he gives away a new LCD TV (as I am need of one).

For reviewing his site, John (if I can call you John) will be giving me a free linkback. You can get one from John too, just read this. All in all, I use his site for the great deal of knowledge that he shares about how to create and maintain a successful website.
