Woot.com is having another Woot-Off today! This is where they sell one product until it sells out, then they put another product out there until this one sells out. And so on and so on. Shipping is always $5, and the prices are usually very good.

CompUSA Stores Closing

compusa.gif

CompUSA is closing over 100 of their stores in the next 60 to 90 days. Many of them are having some great sales. A computer nerd, like myself, is very excited about this, though they are not closing any in my area. Here is a list of all the stores that are closing. Like any liquidation, the closer it gets to closing day, the better the deals, but also, the less product they will have.

My only question is whether the online prices will also drop.

Verizon Wireless - Up to 25% off

images2.jpg

Verizon Wirless is giving up to 25% off your phone bill here. You can get a discount through your employer if they have a deal with Verizon. All you have to do is put in your work e-mail address, they will send you an email to that address, and you click a link in the email. I was able to get 8% off my bill through my new company. Saves me about $5 a month.

Buy TV Now or After Super Bowl

I have wanted a new LCD TV for a long time now, and I am in a big debate with myself and my wife about whether to buy one now or after the Super Bowl. I was always told (and remember from last year) that after the Super Bowl, the prices on TVs went back up. I was also told that going to places after the Super Bowl, you can find open box TVs where people return them after using them for the Super Bowl. They may be cheaper, but I would much rather have a brand new one all to myself.

I told myself I would buy a 32 inch for under $500 or a 37 inch for around $700. I have only found one 37 inch under $700, but it was without a Tuner. The reason I want a Tuner is in case we drop our cable, I could still use the TV.

I am looking at two 37 inch TVs this week. One from Target, and one from CompUSA. I like the one from CompUSA because my brother has the same brand, and he loves it. I love this TV too, and I told myself I would like to get an Olevia TV. I just got a new Discover card, so if I buy the TV, I have 0% APR until October.

So should I buy now, or wait until next week?

Boddit.com

I got a comment from my Deal Sites post saying I should check out Boddit.com. It took me a while, but I visited the site, and I love it. The site combines are the great deal sites into one. Instead of having to visit all these sites one by one, Boddit puts it all in one place. They even have a category section on the left side if you want to narrow your deals down. I especially like the Freebie section. I got a couple of stock magazines for free through the Freebie section.

Boddit combines these sites:

Taxcut - Free Download

taxcutlogo.jpg

Download.com has a free download of H&R Block TaxCut Basic via this link. I have never used TaxCut, but I have used TurboTax. I found TurboTax to be very easy to use, and it was sufficient for someone just out of college. I downloaded TaxCut, and I personally do not like it as much as TurboTax. But hey, it is free, you can’t beat that. Last year I used TurboTax as a quick run through before I went to TaxSlayer and filed there.

Deal Sites

As I was going through my normal routine this morning, I decided I might share a little of what I do every morning to try to find that impossible to pass up DEAL. The first thing I do when I get on my computer in the morning is look at my Deal Sites (links located on right).

I start with Woot - One Day, One Deal. This site, as the title states, has one deal everyday. They will add a new deal every midnight (Central Time, so 1AM Eastern). They only have a limited quantity so if they sell out, you have to wait until the next day to see a new deal. I worked with someone, the guy who showed me this site, who would wake up every morning at 1AM to check the site to see what the deal was. One big item they have is a “Bag of Crap” for $1 (shipping is $5 for everything). This bag can hold anything from a Graphics Card to maybe even a TV. I have never been up early enough to get this item, but my buddy at work got an $80 graphics card and a $50 200 GB hard-drive from the bag. They also have Woot-Offs where they sell items until they are sold out, and then they will sell another item. It is an great site. I got two Christmas presents from there this past December.
