This is the Package Progress for my new UpConverting DVD Player with HDMI capability being shipped UPS.

For those of you who do not know, Jeffersonville (where I live and where the package is heading) is right across the Ohio River from Louisville. I literally live 5 miles from Louisville and a good 100+ from Indianapolis. They could have thrown the package out the window on the way from Louisville to Indianapolis.

This is not the first time this has happened, and it makes me wonder what software they use to find the best routes. I really don’t mind other than the fact I could have gotten my package today instead of tomorrow.  This may not be too funny for those of you out there, but I find it funny when companies like this are so off in their calculations.

This method works with my Motorola Razr, but it does not work with my wife’s Motorola E815.  The Without An Adapter Method will work for all phones.

You will first need a USB Bluetooth Adapter (or you can email the files over, but text messages rates apply):
I recommend going to Deal News or Boddit and checking for their best values.
Newegg.com has some good deals too.

Once you have the Adapter and have everything set up:

Click to preview the ring tone you want. It should bring up Windows Media Player. Then just click File -> Save
and save the file.

If you problems with this step:
1) Open up Windows Media Player (WMP)
2) Click on the Tools tab
3) Go to Options
4) in Options go to the File Types tab
5) find .mp3 and put a check in the box

Without the Adapter:
Save the ring tone to your computer, rename it to a .mid file, send it (as an attachment) to <your phone number>@vzwpix.com
Text Message Rates do Apply.

I have gotten around 20 or so free ringtones with this method. I also made a few of my own with the Nero Burning Software. They have a program to slice and dice MP3s.

Here is the link to a free 1-year subscription to Money Magazine. I have already signed up for this and hopefully it will come. Too bad I used promo code ISK40 in ShareBuilder today to start my daughter’s investment portfolio. I am planning on buying her $50 worth of Disney stock. I think she has about 90% of the animated Disney movies, so I think it was the best one for her. It was either Disney, Nickelodeon (Spongebob), or something to do with Elmo.

If I do somehow get two issues of Money Magazine delivered to my door, I will give one (or both) of them away for free on here. I will just have to think of some interesting ways to give them away.

Download.com has a free download of H&R Block TaxCut Basic via this link. I have never used TaxCut, but I have used TurboTax. I found TurboTax to be very easy to use, and it was sufficient for someone just out of college. I downloaded TaxCut, and I personally do not like it as much as TurboTax. But hey, it is free, you can’t beat that. Last year I used TurboTax as a quick run through before I went to TaxSlayer and filed there.
