As I was about to sell my Jim Cramer book on eBay (I read half of it and just got tired of it), I remembered a site I once visited. This site, CramerWatch.org, pits a Monkey vs. Jim in a battle of stocks and returns.
The basis is that Jim will pick whether to buy and sell stocks on his show in his lightening round. CramerWatch then has a monkey do the same thing. They wait 30 days to see whether the monkey or Jim has the better ROI (Rate on Investment).
The Stats:
Jim Cramer - 116 wins, 97 losses, 30 ties
Leonard the Wonder Monkey - 97 wins, 116 losses, 30 ties
Ongoing Stats:
Jim Cramer is right 49.64% of the time.
Jim Cramer’s picks average a 0.20% ROI after 30 days.
Leonard the Wonder Monkey is right 49.29% of the time.
Leonard’s picks average a 0.24% ROI after 30 days.
As you can see, Jim wins more often, but the Monkey has a better ROI. My only question is where do I find a monkey for my investment tips?
